Don't Hog @ Catch, Shoreditch - 25/1/2012
Don't Hog - The new event bought to you by rap battle dons Don't Flop Entertainment is London's newest monthly open-mic hip hop night. Held down at Catch, Shoreditch on wednesday, the launch went off with a BOOM.
Open mic mc's / rappers's were certainly on point and witnessed some fucking lyrical wizardry. It was great to hear some of the battler's from Don't Flop on some hip-hop.
One that stood out for me was female lyricist Dekay.. Pure fire. She's got talent coming outta her ears. Defiantly one to watch out for.
Finishing off with a live performance was Rum Committee. A 10-strong super team hailing from the big bad Brighton Town, consisting of 4 emcee's and a blues-inspired singer (the man absolutely tore the place apart) , along with 5 Dj's/ Producers. Every aspect of the group, from the tunes to the artwork is done in-house, just the way it should be!
Talking of brighton.. i haven't been down there in years. Roll on summer!
